INTRODUCING
COBALT SCALES
Where organic rhythm meets geometric elegance.

When I began working on Cobalt Scales, I knew I wanted to push the boundaries of detail and texture further than ever before. This piece represents the latest evolution of my series and is, by far, the most intricate. Each individual scale is so finely crafted that the final layers are applied with a Q-tip—a technique I first used when painting sardines. This process brings an incredible level of precision and delicacy, creating a tactile surface that feels alive with movement and rhythm.
In Cobalt Scales, I’ve merged two of my signature series into one cohesive and striking composition. The "scales" fan outward, suggesting organic growth—an almost natural expansion—rather than following a continuous swirl or uniform pattern. This subtle shift brings a fresh energy to the piece, evoking a sense of evolution and vitality. The balance between the organic and geometric is at the heart of this work, mirroring the harmony I strive to create in both my "shapes" and "patterns" series'.
The rhythm of this painting is its soul. It’s a dance between dynamism and tranquility—much like a perfectly orchestrated piece of music. As you take it in, you’ll notice how the interplay of tension and release draws you in, leaving you both grounded and transported.
One of my favorite aspects of Cobalt Scales is its chameleon-like quality. The metallic pigments I’ve incorporated shift with the light and angle of view, revealing hidden details and layers of color that make each encounter with the painting feel new. Whether you display it vertically or horizontally, this piece interacts with its surroundings in a way that makes it feel almost alive. Ultimately, Cobalt Scales is a lush and captivating blend of sophistication and whimsy. It invites you to lose yourself in its sheer beauty and organic rhythm—a celebration of detail, movement, and the unexpected.

COBALT SCALES (2025) | SIGNATURE ORIGINAL
One of the things I love most about this piece is how it interacts with its surroundings. Thanks to the metallic pigments woven throughout, the painting responds to light and shifts in perspective. Depending on the time of day and where you’re standing, new details emerge, making every viewing feel fresh. Whether hung vertically or horizontally, Cobalt Scales transforms any space with its dynamic presence.
